DC-680C & DC-680CD VESA IDE Caching

Introduction

The DC-680C/DC-680CD offers RAID-1 (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks, level 1) hardware-based disk mirroring under all operating systems to safeguard your valuable data. In addition, the DC-680C/CD, a GreenCache controller, is designed to meet the environmental protection requirements by switching the storage system into sleeping mode in order to reduce the power consumption. Its caching capability is to relieve the bottleneck between slow I/O interfaces and IDE disk subsystems. Microprocessor-controlled Caching Algorithms are employed to easily handle heavy bus loading. The DC-680C/CD also provides the most flexible means of installing and upgrading the IDE drive, and is compatible with all major operating systems.
Its on-screen Advanced Configuration Menu (or ACM) provides the following utilities:

• Disk Parameter Setup: Allows you to mirror or link two drives into one logical drive and enable the Track-Remapping function for drives larger than 528MB under the DOS environment.
• Controller Option Select: Green Cache (power saving), maximum of 4 hard drives supported, cache line size, and other useful features.
• Boot Drive Select: Choose which drive to boot from.
• Display Drive information: Displays all information available for each hard drive, such as Drive model/ Firmware version/ Serial#/ Cylinder/ Head/ Sector
• Low Level Format
• Mirror Initialization and Repair: Ease your initialization and repair preparation for mirroring drive pairs.
• Mirror Drive verification: Check for identical data throughout mirrored pairs.
• Disk Image Copy & Compare
